ULC Receives DRCOG Metro Vision Award for the Metro Denver Impact Facility!

On May 7th, Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) received a 2019 Metro Vision Award from the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) for the Metro Denver Impact Facility (MDIF). The Metro Vision Award recognizes exemplary projects, plans and initiatives that signficantly improve the quality of life in the Denver region and it’s communities.

ULC launched MDIF in early 2018 to support the creation and preservation of permanently affordable housing, community facilities and affordable commercial space in transit-accessible locations through the Greater Denver Region. FirstBank is serving as the facility’s senior lender with a commitment of $25 million in loan capital. In 2018 alone, ULC successfully deployed $12.25 million of the growing $50 million facility to preserve critical community serving space and land bank real estate for future permanently affordable housing.

“We’re fortunate in this region to have visionary collaborators addressing these issues,” said Douglas Rex, executive director for DRCOG. “This approach shows how the public-private partnerships can come together to make life better.”
