ULC Hosts Roundtable Discussion Focused on Inclusivity and Homelessness
At the end of November, Urban Land Conservancy (ULC) held our fifth inclusivity round table focused on homelessness, primarily in the Metro region. These round table discussions are a continuation of a two part training ULC staff underwent in late 2016 and early 2017 focused on inclusivity in the workplace and beyond. The trainings were very popular with our staff, so ULC’s Wellness team decided to continue the discussion in a more informal setting.
We launched our “Inclusivity Round Tables” in July of 2017 with our partners at Lutheran Family Services to discuss inclusive and welcoming behavior as it relates to the refugee population. We now host the discussions every 4-6 months. We have since hosted the Colorado Language Cooperative to discuss language justice and Range Consulting to better understand inclusivity as it relates to the LGBTQ community.
Our most recent round table welcomed Robbie Goldman of Dry Bones, Cole Chandler of the Colorado Village Collaborative and Scott Shields of Family Tree. Each organization works with Denver’s homeless population, and offered eye opening insights to better understand and act with compassion towards our city’s homeless community.
