Funding Opportunity: Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Fund
The Denver Foundation established The Black Resilience in Colorado (BRIC) Initiative in June 2020 to dedicate resources to address systemic racism and its impact on Black communities across the seven-county Metro Denver region. The fund was developed to support Black led and Black serving organizations.
Urban Land Conservancy recognizes that one of the most substantial barriers to impact for Black-led/serving organizations who aspire to build is access to capital. To help address this disparity, The Urban Land Conservancy has supported the Black Resilience in Colorado fund in the amount of $250,000 to support 501-c-3 organizations that are Black-led/serving with low-interest loans for pre-development or capital expenditures. The maximum amount awarded will be $50,000 per organization. The following are eligibility requirements and contact information.
Eligibility: Applying organizations must:
- Be a viable 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization or have a fiscal sponsor
- Be Black-led and Black serving. The Denver Foundation defines “Black” as encompassing people of African and Afro-Caribbean descent, including African immigrants and refugees.
- Serve the seven-county Metro Denver area
- Fit one or more of the identified priorities, to be determined by a community-led advisory committee
